Am I too old to learn Odissi?

Anyone can learn Odissi if you have a passion for classical dance. You are not too old for Odissi as long as you are older than 5 years!

Do I need to have prior dance experience?

If you have prior dance experience, it is an advantage. But everyone has to start somewhere! Odissi does not require prior dance experience.

Is there any age limit?

As long as you are over 5 years old, you are welcome to join! If you are below 18 years of age, then a legal guardian or parent has to sign the enrollment agreement on behalf of the student.

What if I miss a class?

Nrityashastra would not be able to provide a separate individual session. You will be able to get a make –up class at any of our other sessions within the same month.  Please note that there is no carry forward system. Call or text or email us atleast 24 hours before the class so that we can let you know of an alternative class and provide alternate options to the best of our ability.

If NrityaShastra is unable to conduct a class for the month, then we will provide the necessary make-up class.

What do I need to wear?

Make sure that you wear a stretchable pajama/pants & kurta along with a dupatta/ scarf. The clothes that you wear should be comfortable to move in.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes! Gift certificates can be purchased in person or over email or phone.

What is the mode of payment?

Payment is accepted in CASH on the first day of the start of the subscription. Payment is done for a set of 5-classes or 15-classes a month depending on the training schedule that you are enrolled for. You also have the option of picking the Pay-as-you-Go subscription. More details are available in the Classes section.

You can only opt to pay online using the PayPal payment options available in the Classes section.

What is the cancellation policy?

Student may cancel an enrollment agreement within seven days from the date of signing for any reason; notification must be given in writing delivered to NrityaShastra through the student’s registered e-mail with NrityaShastra. Prior balance and previous enrollments, if included, are not subject to this seven-day cancellation policy. Any remaining fees paid towards future subscription classes will be refunded within 14 business days through a mode of payment decided by NrityaShatra.
